CBI on Friday arrested Rajkumar, the domestic help of Durranis in connection with the sensational Noida double murder case. Announcing his arrest, Joint Director of CBI Arun Kumar said that Rajkumar was subjected to lie-detector test, psychological assessment, brain mapping and narco-analysis tests at Forensic Sciences Laboratory, Gandhinagar in Gujarat from June 23 to June 26. He said Rajkumar's arrest was effected after report from forensic experts of a washed white colour t-shirt seized from his house opined that it "contains human blood." The apparel has been sent to CDFD, Hyderabad for further forensic tests, the official said. He would be produced before the Duty Magistrate in Ghaziabad on Saturday. Asked whether the blood was matching with the victim - teenage girl Aarushi or the domestic help Hemraj - Kumar said, "For the very same reason the t-shirt has been sent to Hyderabad." Rajkumar was picked up several times from Durrani household, family friends of Talwar. In a related development, Krishna, the compounder of Dr Rajesh Talwar, prime accused in the case was sent to judicial custody till July 11.

Rajkumar killed Aarushi: Krishna!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
************************************************************************
http://www.rediff.com/news/2008/jun/18aarushi2.htm
The Aarushi-Hemraj murder case took a dramatic turn with Krishna stating that Rajkumar tried to rape Aarushi Talwar and later killed her.
Krishna, compounder at Dr Talwars clinic, said during his narco-analysis test that he along with Hemraj, Rajkumar and another person by the name Shambu had met at Aarushi's residence on May 15. They assembled at the servant quarters where they had beer together.
Krishna said that Rajkumar, a domestic help at Anita Durrani's residence, had cast an evil eye on Aarushi.
After having beer, Rajkumar went to Aarushi's room and tried to force himself on her. However, she resisted and he was forced to kill her.
Rajkumar killed her with a khukri by slitting her throat. Krishna also said during the test that Hemraj had threatened to reveal all as a result of which they were forced to kill him. He said that they took Hemraj to the terrace and killed him.
Krishna during his narco-test in Bengaluru, however, did not say clearly as to who the new peson Shambu was.
He said during the test that they cleaned the weapon and dumped it outside.
The CBI is having a tough time in taking the case to the next level. They are yet to get answers as to why the Talwars did not hear the screams when they were in the next room.
Krishna also said that the Talwars were innocent and they did not play any role in the murder.
The CBI has now launched a hunt for Shambu and are trying to ascertain what role he has played in this case.
The CBI is contemplating subjecting Rajkumar to a narco-analysis test.

NEW DELHI: Still looking for leads in the Noida double murder case, the CBI on Thursday detained Rajkumar, domestic help of the Durranis, Times Now reported. Dr Anita Durrani and Dr Praful Durrani are family friends and professional associates of the Talwar couple. Earlier, Rajkumar had been released from detention by the CBI on Wednesday night. He was again held by the investigating agency at 6:15 am on Thursday. The CBI had summoned Dr Anita Durrani and her husband Dr Praful Durrani for questioning on Wednesday. The couple was grilled for several hours. It has been learnt that the two were also subjected to a psycho-analysis test. The CBI had conducted a lie detector test on their help, Rajkumar, on Tuesday. Talwar's compounder Krishna, meanwhile, continues to be in the custody of the CBI. Looking for a breakthrough in the case, the CBI is probing all angles including the role of neighbours and their domestic helps. The investigators are also looking at the possibility that Aarushi's murder may have been a contract killing. Aarushi's mother Nupur had apparently withdrawn Rs 26,000 from her HDFC Bank account two days before the murder.

THIS IS HEIGHTS.....................
http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/Delhi/Channels_face_flak_for_airing_Aarushi_MMS/articleshow/3115502.cms
NEW DELHI: Upset over the telecast of a vulgar MMS on Noida twin murder victim Aarushi Talwar, the government on Monday issued a showcause notice to news channel ‘India'. Even as the channel has been given 15 days to reply to the notice and could even face a temporary ban, more action is likely against other TV channels and a production house. The information and broadcasting (I&B) ministry found the content ‘‘obscene, defamatory and denigrating of children and against good taste and decency''. Meanwhile, Aarushi's mother Nupur Talwar has lodged a strong protest with the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) against television channels and a production house. Talwar has complained that TV channels have ‘‘perpetuated'' the character assassination of her daughter started by the investigating agency (UP police in this case). The production house was now planning to incorporate the murder as part of its TV serial and ‘‘glorify honour killing''. She has demanded an apology from TV channels and demanded that strict legal action be taken against them. The UP police has alleged that the teenager had an affair with the family servant Hemraj. In fact, a senior police official had described Aarushi as ‘‘characterless'' as her father. These comments have earned the ire of several social organisations as well as women and child development minister Renuka Chowdhury who has demanded that the police officials using such ‘‘loose language'' should be suspended. On Monday, Chowdhury added that it was ‘‘unfortunate'' that the murder was being exploited for commercial gain and said she would take up the matter with her counterpart in the I&B ministry. In her letter to the WCD minister, Nupur Talwar has said, ‘‘They (the production house) plan to glorify the concept of honour killing, a thought which is absolutely abhorrent to any educated person.'' ‘‘Does the media have the right to vitiate the public opinion to the extent that an innocent person is made the victim of salacious machinations designed to increase TRPs of the channel?'' Talwar asked. She added, ‘‘The tragedy that our family is going through is a grave one. But the greater tragedy would be the inability of this country to regulate the pillars of democracy to ensure fairness, transparency and justice for all, dead and living. We feel that these agencies (UP police) and errant TV channels should not only apologise to the family and the public, but should also face stiff legal action.'' Following Talwar's letter, NCPCR member Sandhya Bajaj has written to the I&B secretary, Asha Swaroop, asking that the production house be restrained from making such a TV serial till the investigation is over as it will amount to influencing the investigation and the final outcome of the case.

NEW DELHI: The CBI on Monday got one day remand of Dr Rajesh Talwar. The case has been transferred to CBI's special court in Ghaziabad. Earlier, the CBI on Monday moved an application before a designated court in Noida to seek the remand of dentist Rajesh Talwar, arrested by the Uttar Pradesh police in connection with the murder of his daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj. The CBI team had on Sunday registered a first information report in the matter. A special team of the CBI on Sunday began probing the murder of Noida teenager Aarushi Talwar and her domestic help Hemraj with the interrogation of the girl's mother Nupur Talwar. Earlier, Nupur went and met her husband Rajesh Talwar, who has been arrested for Aarushi's murder, at Dasna Jail. In her absence, the CBI team took samples of blood stains from the walls and inspected the victims' rooms. The team also inspected the staircases, bedrooms and living room of the house. On Sunday, taking every precaution, the agency had cordoned off the area around the house in Jal Vayu Vihar in sector-25 of Noida, where the murders took place. Around 90 personnel of the Sashastra Seema Bal were deployed outside the house and barricades were erected. Nobody, including media, was allowed inside as the CBI sleuths interrogated Aarushi's mother and forensic experts investigated the crime scene. Fourteen-year-old Aarushi was found dead with her throat slit on May 16 morning and the body of servant Hemraj, who was initially suspected of the crime, was found a day later on the terrace. The Noida police had arrested dentist Rajesh Talwar for the murders eight days later, saying he first killed the servant and then his daughter after finding them together May 15 night in close quarters "but not in compromising position". The police also said Rajesh killed Aarushi because she had come to know of his extra-marital affair with a colleague and had threatened to expose him. After the Noida police, the case was investigated by the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force. The callous probe by the police was evident as it did not even bother to seal the crime scene and virtually everybody was allowed inside the house. Following a public outrage over botched up investigations, the central government on late Saturday issued a notification transferring the case to the CBI.

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has stepped up its search for evidence in the Aarushi Talwar murder case.On Friday morning, a CBI team started cleaning up drains near the Talwar residence to look for the murder weapon and mobile phones which could help the investigators crack the case. The investigators denied that that the search indicates that Dr Rajesh Talwar was the prime suspect in the case. However, they maintain that the 14-year old victim's father has behaved suspiciously while answering questions.Dr Rajesh Talwar, who has been accused of murdering his daughter Aarushi and domestic help Hemraj, is in judicial custody.

The Information and Broadcasting Ministry is considering to issue show cause notice to a couple of television channels for alleged character assassination of Aarushi Talwar, after the Noida Police claimed that she and Hemraj, the family servant, were very close.
Aarushi’s father Dr Rajesh Talwar had been accused by the Noida Police of killing the girl and the servant. He is currently in judicial custody.
The ministry, which had received representations from some child rights organisations on the Aarushi case, was examining whether action can be taken against the channels under the programme code, officials said.
The Women and Child Development Ministry has also written to the I&B Ministry seeking action. Women and Child Development Minister Renuka Chowdhury at a meeting with legal experts on Thursday on the Aarushi case confirmed a letter has been written in this regard.
PARENTS KNOWS THE BEST
http://www.thaindian.com/newsportal/uncategorized/noida-parents-shield-children-from-aarushi-murder-aftermath_10053344.html
By Azera RahmanNoida, May 27 (IANS) Worried parents in the quiet Jal Vayu Vihar neighbourhood in this suburb of the national capital are apprehensive about sending their children out to play, fearing that the sordid theories being floated in the aftermath of teenager Aarushi Talwar’s murder could damage the young minds. Many also believe that the cold-blooded murders of Aarushi and a domestic help on May 15 could be the handiwork of a stranger who is still on the prowl and not that of the teenager’s father Rajesh, who has been arrested and charged with the murders.
Echoing the anguish like many parents is Sujata Jain. The homemaker finds it a challenge to handle her children, who are shaken up by the incident, and ask her some very sensitive questions that she finds hard to answer.
“At times you just don’t know what to answer to such questions as ‘Do you really think the father did it?’ It’s a very delicate issue and from their questions you can make out that the kids have been shaken by the incident,” Jain, a mother of two boys, told IANS.
Ever since the twin murders came to light, Jal Vayu Vihar, populated largely by retired armed forces officers, finds itself in very unwelcome limelight.
“The children have been affected (by the happenings). They keep hearing the news and find themselves in the midst of a media frenzy,” Jain added, the worry evident in her voice.
After speaking to a number of parents, it was evident that the murders had placed an enormous psychological burden on them. Most did not want to believe Rajesh Talwar was the murderer. Many feared it was an outsider who was responsible. There were even some, like Jain, who hoped just the opposite.
“Call it whatever but I hope that the accused is a part of the family…at least that would mean that it’s not an outsider who might be lurking in the neighbourhood,” Jain added worriedly.
Twelve-year-old Sonal spoke for many of her friends when said her mother had suddenly become very strict with her, monitoring her telephone calls and asking her endless questions whenever she wanted to step out of home.
“I hope things return to normal. My friends are facing a similar situation in their homes,” she said.
Saying that there is “distress on both sides” - among parents and children - psychiatrist Sameer Parikh said he had been receiving numerous calls every day since the murders took place.
“The incident has posed serious question about the fundamental framework of society and about all the safety parameters that we have such blind faith in. Naturally, children as well as their parents are very disturbed,” Parikh told IANS.
“What I constantly tell parents is that when their children ask them such questions as can a father kill his child, they should talk to them frankly and tell them that the world is made up of different people. Just because there are accidents on the roads we don’t stop driving, do we?
“It’s very important to let a child vent his feelings. Children are aware of the incident and unfortunately, there are more hypothetical situations than substantial ones, so it’s important to know what the child knows and then explain things to him accordingly,” he said.
Psychologist Naveen Kumar agreed.
“Parents should give the factual information to their children. One should remember that there are lots of rumours doing rounds as well…at this point of time it’s important for parents to tell what the facts are, otherwise their children will get to know all sorts of things from third parties,” Kumar said.
Like Jain, parents in the capital’s neighbourhoods are equally tense and are keeping a watch on their children, closely monitoring what they see on television.
Asmita Rai, a resident of south Delhi’s Chanakyapuri, said that ever since the murders, she has started monitoring what her kids, a son aged seven and a daughter aged 10, watch on TV.
“It’s maddening the kind of talk that is doing the rounds, both in the media and in our neighbourhood. After watching TV, my children start asking me all sorts of questions…then they get on the phone and discuss similar things with their friends,” the hapless mother said.
Kumar said that it’s very important for parents to keep the daily schedule at home as normal as possible.
“Once a child realises that there is no tension at home and things are just as normal, he will take everything in his stride. If he wants to watch TV, let him. And more importantly, let him talk his mind out,” he maintained.

A child rights panel on Tuesday sought an explanation from the Uttar Pradesh police for its "objectionable" statements on Aarushi Talwar, the Noida teenager who was murdered along with a family domestic help, a crime for which her dentist father has been arrested.
"We have expressed anguish over the language used by Gurdarshan Singh (Inspector General of Police - Meerut Zone) about the deceased girl. It is highly objectionable and we have asked him to respond in 15 days," said Sandhya Bajaj, a member of the National Commission For Protection of Child Rights.
She said that as Aarushi was not there to "defend" herself, it was highly improper for the police to besmirch her name and her dignity.
"We asked the police to explain the basis of remarks that she (Aarushi) was found in an 'objectionable but not compromising position' with (domestic help) Hemraj and that this prompted her father to kill them both," Bajaj told IANS.
Aarushi, a Class 9 student of Delhi Public School (Noida), was found dead with her throat slit and multiple stab injuries on her face, chest and neck May 16.
Hemraj, who the police initially named as the prime suspect, was found dead on the terrace of the house the next day. Aarushi's dentist father was arrested last Friday.
"We have also asked the police to explain why it was necessary to say what was said about the girl, when there was no confession from the accused about why he committed the crime," Bajaj said, adding that the commission had taken the matter very seriously.
"We are really upset. It's the question of a child's dignity. The police have to explain what were the compulsions. If there is need, we would come out with guidelines to stop police from naming children in such fashion," Bajaj said.
CHARACTER ASSASINATION.............
Shocked friends decry 'false stories' about Aarushi
http://www.hindustantimes.com/StoryPage/StoryPage.aspx?id=01be3cfe-287b-49ac-b3b1-ed0e7f0cd4df&MatchID1=53&TeamID1=8&TeamID2=7&MatchType1=5&SeriesID1=1&PrimaryID=53&Headline=Friends+decry+'false+stories'+about+Aarushi
Ever one to smile, Aarushi Talwar loved pirouetting in her school's corridors. For her close friends, the teenager was a normal fun-loving girl who came from a happy background - quite contrary to the sordid picture the police painted about her family in the wake of her murder and that of a domestic help, a crime for which her father has been arrested.
With her considered to be one of the most popular girls of Class 9, her friends in Delhi Public School here find it difficult to believe the story the police have floated about her apparent closeness with the family's middle-aged servant Hemraj that led her dentist father Rajesh to kill them in cold blood on May 15.
“It is shocking and disappointing to see what is being spoken and written about her and her family. She was like any other normal teenager, had lots of friends and loved outings. She was full of life. Why don't they let her rest in peace?” asked one of Aarushi's close friends.
She said it was difficult to digest the fact that Aarushi could have had any kind of relations with her servant.
“She was sweet, friendly, polite and a well-mannered child. She was polite to the helpers in school, so I can imagine she was so with her servant. I think this has been misinterpreted and exaggerated,” the friend told IANS, speaking on condition of anonymity.
“All stories are false. We know it is not true. She had a boyfriend. And I know she had no physical relations with anyone. She was not at all that kind of girl. She had pride,” the friend said, referring to the police statement that her father found her in an “objectionable but not compromising position with Hemraj” that drove him to the extreme step of killing them both.
About Aarushi's parents, the friend said: “They were not at all narrow-minded people. They were very nice people. They allowed her freedom - freedom to have friends, freedom to go out for lunches, movies and shopping. As she was the only child, it was clear that her parents doted on her. But she was not a spoilt child.”
Finding it difficult to believe that Aarushi, who would have turned 16 last Saturday, is no more, the friend said she and the others have yet to come to terms with the loss.
“It (her death) has still not sunk in. But I know, when we will return to school after the summer break, the first few days would seem lonely without her,” the friend said.
Aarushi's friends now plan to have a small garden named in her memory.
“When we all friends would meet in school, we will sit and decide how we could cherish her memory. Maybe, we could name a small garden after her in the school,” the friend said.
For Aarushi's friends, the school's corridors would seem barren without her.
“Whenever we were free, she would be dancing on her toes, or teaching some of us how to take a spin,” the friend said about Aarushi, who was taking dance lessons from an expert, Ashley Lobo, and had opted for German as one of her languages in school.
Remembering how excited Aarushi was about her birthday, the friend said: ”She had left a note on her desk reminding her friends about her birthday.”
On her desk were words: “Hey guys, my birthday is 15 days away….”
The best time they shared, the friend said, was when they would slip away to a corner to gossip about teachers and clothes - and boys.
What Aarushi's close friends would miss the most would be gorging on the contents of her lunch box.
“She used to bring amazing lunches. From pizza to macaroni to corn. All of it was junk food, but we used to jump when she opened her lunch box and we would empty it fast,” the friend recalled
DEFINITELY...........Arushi: Victim of slander
http://www.ibnlive.com/news/arushi-talwar-a-victim-of-murder-slander/65976-3.html
Noida (Uttar Pradesh): After a week of conspiracy theories, Uttar Pradesh Police finally declared they had managed to crack the sensational Noida twin murders last Friday.
Fourteen-year-old Arushi Talwar's father, Dr Rajesh Talwar, was arrested for the murders of his daughter and manservant Hemraj.
However, the motive ascribed to the killing shocked all many. The police say that Arushi was found in an "objectionable position" with the 46-year-old domestic help, Hemraj, which prompted her father to murder the two.
Women's groups have taken exception to this insinuation. An activist, Urvashi Butalia says, "The police even before the press conference let out a whole range of information, which allowed people to conjecture."
And this is not the first time that this has happened. Nine years ago, Jessica Lall was shot dead in a posh Delhi restaurant. In her subsequent dealing with the law and the media, Jessica's sister, Sabrina Lall realised that casting aspersions on the character of women is almost a given in cases like these.
"Thank god the incident happened in a public place otherwise we don't know what kind of scrutiny we would have gone through. And then Jessica have been linked with various people," Sabrina says.
Investigating officers even named Aarushi's fellow student, without having any concrete evidence of the nature of his involvement in the case.
While many may argue that a stricter defamation law is required to put a check on such unbridled accusations, others like Urvashi say that the responsibility lies with the individual.
"It's think it's much more an issue of the kind of responsibility that belongs to you as a person — whether one belongs to the police or the media, or whether one is simply an ordinary, interested person. It all boils down to what your responsibility as a human being is towards other human beings," says Urvashi Butalia.
But this, going by what is seen presently, seems quite a tough ask.

NOIDA: The family of dentist Rajesh Talwar, accused by Noida police of killing her teenaged daughter Aarushi, on Tuesday demanded a CBI inquiry into the sensational Noida twin murder case alleging he has been made a "shocking scapegoat". The family also demanded that Talwar be immediately handed over to CBI "strongly apprehending" about the well being of Talwar in Noida police's custody. "Talwar has been shockingly made a scapegoat in the case...the family is unanimously demanding an impartial CBI inquiry into the twin murder", family lawyer Pinaki Mishra told a press conference at the Talwars' residence here. He said Noida Police "should desist from any further questioning or investigations into the case as they are compounding their errors". Uttar Pradesh government should immediately order a CBI probe into the murders, he added. Mishra said the family feared for Talwar's safety in police custody after witnessing the way in which the investigators "bulldozed" the matter to the court. He claimed the case came up before the court on Tuesday at a time when a lawyers' strike was on and "defence lawyers were not allowed to argue Talwar's case". "Unfortunately, our plea for an adjournment of the case on account of the strike was disallowed and a three-day police custody was granted. We find this as against all cannons of natural and established justice," Mishra said. Claiming there were many shortcomings in the police probe into the murder case of Aarushi, the 14-year-old daughter of the Talwar couple, and their domestic help Hemraj, Mishra said police did not have any "extraordinary" evidence for seeking the dentist's police custody.

The murder of Noida teenaged school girl Aarushi Talwar and her domestic help Hemraj appears to be the work of some professional who could be a doctor or a butcher, a senior Uttar Pradesh police official said in Lucknow on Wednesday.
"The way in which the throat of Aarushi was cut points out that it is the work of some professional who could be a doctor or a butcher," Additional Director General of Police (Law and Order) Brijalal told reporters when asked about the case.
He said a 5cm deep wound on the Aarushi's vocal cord was found and the way in which the throat was slit pointed to to a professional hand.
The investigation is going on in the case and it would be worked out soon, he said.Meanwhile, reacting for the first time since Aarushi's murder on May 16, her father Rajesh Talwar spoke to the media and reportedly denied knowing anything related to the murder.Aarushi's parents were questioned by the STF on Tuesday.
Speaking to the media, Talwar said, "I am not aware of anything related to Aarushi's murder and if I would have known I would have given details to the media."
The family had been under scanner for giving unsatisfactory and different statements to the Noida police.
Aarushi's parents have not been friendly towards the media and press regarding the murder case.
ANOTHER THEORY..............HONOUR KILLING
http://www.ibnlive.com/news/arushis-murder-crime-of-passion-or-honour-killing/65765-3.html
New Delhi: Noida girl Arushi Talwar’s murder was either a crime of passion or an honour killing, said a senior police officer on Thursday.
Hemraj, the domestic help at the Talwar household, was murdered because he probably saw Arushi being murdered. The police will take 15 more days to find out who killed Arushi and Hemraj, said Noida Senior Superintendent of Police A Satish Ganesh at a press conference on Thursday.
“Police are exploring honour killing and crime of passion as possible motives. I would like to take media's help as well in finding why it happened. Only one person was supposed to be killed and the other was killed because he was a witness or had information about the first murder,” said Ganesh.
Arushi, 14, was found murdered in her bedroom at her L-32 Jalvayu Vihar home in Sector-25 in Noida last Friday.
The police immediately declared Hemraj as their suspect but were red-faced when he was found murdered in the balcony of Talwar’s home.
The police are taking the help of Arushi’s friend Anmol in establishing a profile of the girl. The two friends had communicated 688 times on phone between April 1 and May 15, said Ganesh.
Ganesh revealed said the murder victims’ viscera are being examined to find if the two were poisoned though the autopsy had ruled out poisoning.
Sources tell CNN-IBN that senior police officers questioned Arushi's parents, Dr Rajesh Talwar and Dr Nupur Talwar, and her uncle for almost two hours.
The questions that remain unanswered are:
Why hadn't the police searched the terrace a day before? Even the weapon used in the murder hadn't been traced.
The mattress that Arushi was found lying on was left on the terrace, to face the sun and since Sunday, the incessant rains. Why hadn't her room been sealed?
There is no clear consensus on who found the girl's body. Was it the parents, who are said to have been keeping their daughter locked at nights or is it the maid, as claimed by Arushi's father?
Questions loom large over Noida double murder case
MURDER MYSTERY: More than a MONTH after Aarushi Talwar’s brutal murder and a day after her father’s arrest, the mystery remains
http://www.hindu.com/2008/05/25/stories/2008052557470100.htm
LUCKNOW: A day after the dramatic arrest of Dr. Rajesh Talwar in Noida for his alleged involvement in the sensational murder of his 14-year-old daughter Aarushi and the family’s domestic help Hemraj, the “mysterious” nature of the crime continues to raise many questions.
While the Noida police maintained over the weekend that they had moved in the right direction, the mention of the name of one “Dinesh Varma” by Dr. Talwar after his arrest on Friday has rendered the whodunit even more complex.
The name was reportedly mentioned by Dr. Talwar when he was being produced in court following his arrest. The seasoned dentist alleged that he was being framed by Dinesh. Incidentally Dinesh is also the name of Dr. Talwar’s elder brother, but his surname should also logically be Talwar.
Expressing surprise that there was someone by the name of Dinesh Varma, Senior Superintendent of Police (Noida) Satish Ganesh said on Saturday: “I came to know about this name from media reports. Why would someone named Dinesh Varma try to frame Dr. Talwar in the case? It is on the basis of circumstantial evidence that the police were able to crack the case and all the evidence points to Dr. Talwar’s involvement in the crime.”
Since the doctor’s arrest on Friday, the Noida police and the Uttar Pradesh Special Task Force have been accused of cooking up a story to frame Dr. Talwar in the sensational crime.
The SSP said it was practically difficult to gather all the evidence pertaining to a crime of such a complex nature within a period of six days and that investigations were still very much under way. As to whether Dr. Talwar is innocent as claimed by his family and lawyer, Mr. Ganesh said: “Which accused would plead guilty?”
The police officer vehemently denied that the case was worked out under media pressure.
No headway in Aarushi murder case

Noida, May 20 (PTI) Police is yet to make any breakthrough in the sensational murders of a teenaged girl and her family help here even as investigators conducted a search in the garage of the doctor-couple's residence where the killings took place. The Special Task Force scoured the garage, which was used as a clinic till about two years ago, but could not find any clue which could help in solving the case, police sources said.
"Interrogations are going on," Additional Director General (Law and Order) Brij Lall said. Senior Superintendent of Police (Noida) A Satheesh Balan said they were close to the prime suspect.
"As of now, there is nothing I can reveal to you," he said. Balan had yesterday said they were close to cracking the case and expected to reveal the details by this afternoon.
Police were questioning a number of people, including former servants and the parents of the murdered girl Aarushi Talwar. They had yesterday detained one Vishnu, a former servant of the Talwars, whom they suspected could be behind the murder.
The body of Aarushi Talwar, daughter of Rajesh and Nupur Talwar, both dentists, was found in the bedroom of their house on Friday morning and immediately police suspected the hand of Hemraj, their domestic help, in the murder. A day later the body of Hemraj was found on the terrace of the house.

Vital clues about the double murder case in Noida have been collected and police are building up evidence against the suspect(s), Uttar Pradesh’s Special Task Force officers said on Tuesday.
There was still no word about what could have been a possible motive behind the killing of 14-year-old Arushi Talwar, daughter of a doctor couple of Noida, and their domestic help Hemraj.
Arushi was found dead in her bedroom on Friday and Hemraj’s decaying body was discovered on the rooftop of their Sector 25 home the next day.
The state government dispatched an STF team to crack the case after initial goof ups by the Noida police. Officers said they were close to cracking the case but did not divulge any details.
“Someone extremely well known, specifically not a distant acquaintance, murdered the two. Friendly entry, no sign of struggle and other circumstantial evidence point to an insider's role,” said STF officer.
The officer said they were coordinating with Noida police officers regarding the investigation and the case would be worked out soon after concrete evidences are collected and added the motive was still not clear.
Noida police also said they suspected someone known to the Talwars committed the crime. “We have questioned several people and are trying to piece together the mystery,” said an officer. Police also still didn’t confirm or disprove rumours that they were probing the role of Arushi’s parents in the crime. “Everyone is being questioned,” said SSP (Noida) A. Satish Ganesh.
Investigations were shrouded in controversy with STF officers saying the Noida police weren’t cooperating. Sources revealed STF sleuths also had a confrontation with the Noida counterparts when the former inquired for certain details.
An officer who is part of the investigation, requesting anonymity, revealed the laidback attitude of the Noida police the very first day spoiled several vital clues in and around the spot.
A casual attitude was applied by senior officers while floating the theory that Hemraj had killed Aarushi.
The slackness continued, with officers not seeking specific information in the post-mortem examination. “Even though doctors had not detected rupture on private parts or any other evidence corroborating rape with the girl victim, the police did not ask for a slide test to get confirmation if any such attempt was made on her,” said an officer.
CELL PHONES COULD BE CRUCIAL IN SOLVING THE MYSTERY

NEW DELHI: A case that has been catching the attention of the nation is the mysterious death of 14-year-old Aarushi in Noida. Following the murder case which has been getting murkier with time, Noida police on Tuesday (May 19) claimed that they are just hours away from cracking the Aarushi Talwar murder case. ( Watch ) Meanwhile, Times Now has managed to get exclusive access to the calls made from Aarushi and Hemraj's cell phones on the day of their murder. Aarushi murder case has been in the limelight following the mysterious death of 15-year-old Aarushi in Noida. Call details of Aarushi On the day of the murder Thursday (May 15), the last incoming call to Aarushi's mobile phone was at 21:06. The call lasted for 13 seconds. Aarushi also received an SMS at around 21:10:25 .The last outgoing call made from Aarushi's mobile was at 04:56 pm and the conversation lasted for over 5 minutes. However, just a day before the murder Wednesday (May 14), an outgoing call from Aarushi's mobile lasted for over an hour. What's interesting to note is the fact that from Aarushi's call details, a pattern has emerged. People use to send Aarushi an SMS after which she use to call them. Aarushi spoke last to a person, who hails from East Delhi. The police did question the person, however, the officials are tightlipped and are not ready to reveal the identity of the person. On the day of the murder, the last call that Aarushi made was around 5 pm and the call lasted for about 5 min. Aarushi had sent an SMS to the same number at 9 pm on the same day and also made a call to the number a day before (May 14). She made frequent calls to a particular number and was in regular touch with its owner. Call details of Hemraj The last incoming call on Hemraj's mobile came at around 8:27pm from a public phone booth on the night of the murder. But what's interesting to note is the fact that just a day after Hemraj was brutally murdered, there was an incoming call received on his cell phone. The call was made from a landline number and lasted for half a minute. This clearly indicates that someone had access to Hemraj's phone after his murder. Sources close to Times Now say the needle of suspicion points towards 4 people. Dr Rakesh and Nupur Talwar (Aarushi's parents) are well known dentists in Noida and their clients include top politicians, former policemen and bureaucrats. As per their version, they returned from the clinic and saw Aarushi sleeping, after which they retired to bed. However, a needle of suspicion arises from the discrepancies of sequence of events in their narration. They were also very hasty about disposing Aarushi's blood soaked mattress and leaving for Hardwar to complete Aarushi's final rites. Vishnu Sharma, one of the suspects (former servant and helper at the clinic), was with the Talwars for 10 years and had introduced Hemraj as a replacement. Vishnu went for long vacations of 4-8 months each year and made sure that he would replace himself with a distant relative. Hemraj was once such relative and it was believed that the two had an argument. Perhaps he was angry with Hemraj for usurping his job and also killed Aarushi as she was a witness to Hemraj's murder.

Noida, May 23 (IANS) In a sordid crime drama that rocked the heart of middle class India, a dentist father was Friday arrested for brutally killing his 15-year-old daughter Aarushi Talwar and his domestic help Hemraj - allegedly following a quarrel over his extramarital affair with a fellow doctor. Rajesh Talwar’s killed his daughter because she had stumbled upon his affair, said Gurdarshan Singh, inspector general of police, Meerut range.
Talwar’s wife Nupur and his alleged lover Anita Durrani are also dentists.
“From the evidence we have, Talwar was having an extramarital affair which Aarushi knew about. Hemraj also knew about it and spread the word among his friends. This angered Talwar,” Gurdarshan Singh said at a crowded news conference here attended by hordes of mediapersons who were transfixed by this sensational crime that had been talk of the National Capital Region for the past week.
“Hemraj also told his friends of a threat to his life. Had he informed the police, the crimes would not have taken place,” the police officer said, adding that the affluent dentist was the prime accused in the double murder that has shocked not just this suburban boomtown of the national capital but the rest of the country as well.
“The prime accused is Rajesh Talwar who killed his daughter and his servant. Talwar has been arrested. The investigations are on. Every angle is being examined,” Gurdarshan Singh said.
Aarushi, a Class 9 student of Delhi Public School (Noida), was found dead with her throat slit and multiple stab injuries on her face, chest and neck exactly a week ago on May 16.
The teenager, the only daughter of the dentist couple, reportedly had dinner with her family the night of the murder and retired to her room in the three-bedroom apartment.
Elaborating in chilling detail the sequence of events leading to the murders, Gurdarshan Singh said: “Aarushi used to discuss her father’s extramarital relations with Hemraj.”
“That (May 15) night, when her father came home, he saw the two in the bedroom sitting close but they were not in a compromising position. He was enraged and took Hemraj to the terrace and hit him on the head with a heavy weapon and then slit his throat. He then placed the cover of the water cooler over the body.
“He then came down, locked the terrace and slit his daughter’s throat,” the officer said.
“The next morning, he only called his close friends and relatives and not the police. He also did not tell anybody to call the police, which would be the normal thing to do,” the officer added.
Admitting that the weapon used in the crime and Aarushi’s mobile phone had not yet been found, Gurdarshan Singh said: “We have solid proof. “We are not relying just on (Talwar’s) confession.
The Uttar Pradesh Police earlier suspected Hemraj and even announced a reward for his arrest. On May 17, the case took a murkier turn when the police discovered his body on the terrace of the house.
